"Takaratomy recently came out with a new toy that will help you clean up your chops before the next Air Guitar Championships. Taking the air guitar to the next level, the Air Guitar Pro consists of the upper neck of a guitar and plays chords as your fingers pass through infared ray strings that make up an invisible fretboard-of-sorts. All you do is strum the air to produce accurate sound.

More advanced than your Guitar Hero variety, the controller has seven buttons of different chords but also additional buttons on the side to change from major, minor, augmented and diminished sounds. It even includes ten beginner songs to get you up to speed. This is a simply wonderful toy, and one of the most unexpected things you will ever come across. For those of you that don't remember vinyl records, they are what people had before CDs, and they needed a special turntable to play them.

This extraordinary toy replaces the turntable - all you need is the record. Place it on a flat surface, and place the car on the record. Underneath the car is a needle that will sit in the slot on the record. Switch the car on, and it travels around the record, playing the record as it goes. Within the car is a small amplifier and a speaker.

In order to keep the car on track as it were, the needle is mounted at the end of a lightweight arm, at the other end of which is a small guide wheel. This allows the vehicle to follow the groove on the record. The car is only designed for records that are meant to be played at 33rpm, i.e. long playing records, and now that the car is no longer in the first flush of youth, it has to be said that it doesn't really handle music all that well, which is why we have chosen to demonstrate it using a speech recording. But it is a clever, ingenious mechanism. It runs on a single PP9 battery. added on 2008-03-17

This heirloom-quality music instrument is handmade by the famous Hohner instrument company, renowned makers of fine harmonicas for 150 years. This full concert octave harmonica faithfully reproduces the original 1907 design, and includes five meticulously crafted brass bells which produce the instruments vibrant sound. A solid pearwood comb forms the core of the harmonica, and it will not swell, even after years of playing, because it is the same wood used in orchestral recorders. Two brass Knittlinger-replica reed plates are affixed to either side of the comb using the traditional nailing method and enclosed by two cover plates, creating 10 double holes and a total of 40 reeds. The brass bells all connect to the air chamber, and blowing o r drawing on one of the holes passes air through the nearest bell, resulting in the classic Hohner vibrato. The harmonica is tuned to the key of C-major.
